Omni Hotels & Resorts is known for creating memorable experiences inspired by the heart and soul of the destination. With more than 50+ hotels and resorts across North America, Omni engaged Leonardo as its content management platform partner to efficiently manage and distribute its visual content. When we launched our new product, LUCID Content Manager, Omni Hotels & Resorts was an early adaptor. They took this opportunity to refresh their image distribution strategy in partnership with our newly revamped platform.

By leveraging Leonardo’s new platform, Omni significantly improved their online content quality scores. Through strategic implementation and consistent usage of the platform, their image content score rose from 88% to 97%, resulting in increased market share and transient bookings. Centralized content management enhances distribution efficiency and online presence for hospitality brands. LUCID has made it easier for hotel brands to manage and update content.

We spoke with Kara Matson, Senior Manager of Global Distribution as well as Miki Gulati, Corporate Director Distribution Partnerships at Omni Hotels & Resorts about their experience with Leonardo over the years. As distribution experts with over 20 years of experience, they understand that media is not just about marketing—it’s essential to both direct and indirect bookings.

By integrating our new content platform as part of Omni’s distribution strategy, the team gained several opportunities to enhance their online presence. Previously, visual content was managed collaboratively across multiple departments, creating coordination challenges and inconsistent third-party display. By giving their distribution team direct access to LUCID, they began to streamline the workflow to update and maintain visual content on a regular basis.

Now, their distribution team uses LUCID every day. They’re uploading new photos following renovations or new acquisitions and using Leonardo’s proactive content monitoring to improve their content scores. LUCID quickly identifies missing room or property details and ensures that room descriptions are accurate and aligned with Omni’s naming conventions.

“It’s easy to match everything up,” explains Matson. “Room names are consistent between our internal system and LUCID. The platform’s interface prompts us when we’re missing amenity or other photos, which has really helped us increase content scores.”

In addition to regularly using LUCID, they continue to receive content audits from key distribution partners and leverage them alongside our platform to ensure their content is updated quickly and thoroughly. The team at Omni is also supported by our proactive approach to account management, which means they are truly always on top of new content targets. “Our account manager Angie is very responsive and helpful,” says Matson. “We chat on a regular basis to talk through small issues or new opportunities.”

We’ve seen amazing results in the past 12 months using LUCID Content Manager. Our content scores have increased. As a growing brand acquiring new properties and developing our existing portfolio, our visual assets are essential to communicating with guests. Leonardo gets that message across.

A central repository for control & innovation

In addition to LUCID Content Manager, Omni Hotels & Resorts also uses our innovative Media Library product. This creates a true central repository for their content and gives them close control over that content. They are able to easily resize and share content as needed.

This partnership has also helped them innovate. New partnerships and new channels require them to be able to move quickly to create curated collections of images for specialty channels. With Media Library, they have a central repository to take action; this makes it easy to share content with external partners so Omni can easily execute marketing opportunities such as influencer programs and travel agents. When working with smaller start-ups, they can share their Media Library to give complete access to brand-approved content with minimal work on their end.

The new platform improved their standardization across channels, ensuring that the brand’s hotels are displayed accurately and completely on third-party channels. They can launch new property acquisitions faster and showcase beautiful renovations with ease.

“Leonardo has done a great job keeping with changes in the industry,” explains Gulati. “From new integrations, improved connectivity with third-party channels and new features, we’ve seen continuous innovation in Leonardo’s products that has kept up changes in the travel landscape.”
